Aims and activities

The International Observatory of Violence in Schools is a non-governmental organization of which aims are:

1/ To collect, promote, and disseminate worldwide inter-disciplinary studies on violence in schools and related subjects such as school dropout when related to victimisation for example.

2/ To conduct and take part to scientific evaluations of the studies and analyses published on the topic.

3/ To assess the impact of intervention programmes and public policies designed and implemented to prevent and reduce the phenomenon.

4/ To complete victimisation surveys and disseminate the results through scientific publications, conferences, and professional reports.

5/ To draw up proposals for action in the field based on scientific research results.

6/ To assist on the initial and in-service training of teachers, professionals, and students.

7/ To provide training of students and young researchers on violence in schools.
